Aaron Stuckey Hill is Portofino’s three-day event rider and instructor. Raised in Newnan, Georgia on her family’s farm, she rode before she could walk. “Horses have always been in my life, and are my passion. My goal was to train and compete on the international level, and I accomplished this by the age of 20 through hard work and dedication.” Aaron has felt a strong connection to horses from a young age and it shows in her training methods. She has produced many horses along the way and continues to develop young horses and assist her students in properly developing the young event horse.
Aaron has competed all over the country and was long-listed for The United States Three-Day Event Team in 2001. A longtime US Pony Club member, she achieved the USPC’s difficult “A” rating and continues to work with local Pony Clubs. She feels very lucky to be able to give back to the pony club community.
Many of Aaron’s students have competed at the National level and the FEI level. For Aaron, watching students like Mia Braundel go on to develop her career is most rewarding.
“I couldn’t be happier seeing Mia continue to develop and become such an amazing horse woman! She makes me so proud to have been a part of her training!”
Aaron has sharpened her own skills through years of experience in the field, plus extensive training with legendary horsemen including Mark Todd, Ralph Hill, Nick Larkin, Bruce and Buck Davidson, David O'Conner, Jim Wofford, Julie Richards and Robert Costello.
“I am very fortunate to have been in presence of many great horseman who developed my riding and horsemanship skills, which has been influential to shaping my current program. I know that my hard work landed me in these positions however there is some luck as well!”
A patient and enthusiastic well rounded trainer and coach for any level! If your looking to further your knowledge you should contact Portofino Equestrian Center! You can look for Aaron and her students at all the events up and down the East Coast!
