Emily (Em) began her career with horses as a young girl riding Western and taking care of her Father’s driving horses along with riding, retraining & rehoming numerous rescue Ponies and Horses that her family would receive from a local horse broker and race track North of Boston, Massachusetts.

Em caught the bug of Eventing after years of riding and showing hunt seat and riding along with the Georgetown Hunt & Myopia Hunt Club located in Hamilton, Massachusetts.   During her College years, she worked for the United States Combined Training Association (USCTA) which was located at the US Eventing Training Headquarters in Hamilton.  This organization is now known as the United States Eventing Association (USEA) residing in Virginia.  Afterwards, Em worked as a working student at Ledyard Farm, a summer Pony Club Riding Instructor at the Green Mountain Horse Association (GMHA) a competive and educational facility in South Woodstock, Vermont.  Along with holding a full-time job in Economic Development for a State Government -- housing development agency in downtown Boston.

Em’s next opportunity in the equine industry came when she was invited to travel to England to ride for the Queen of England at the Royal Families Flemish Farm, Windsor Castle, Windsor, England.  Upon returning from England, Em was interested in learning more about equine breeding.  From there she spent two years working for Hamilton Farm with their world class show jumpers and dressage Stallions along with riding their FEI level dressage and eventing horses.   After being promoted to their corporate offices of Hamilton Thorne Biosciences (a DNA technology company) Em spent 10 years working as an International Sales Manager in both Human and Animal Reproductive Technology.  Em’s next opportunity came when she was asked to take over as Program Director / Head Trainer for Pine Tree Equestrian Center, Beverly Farms, Mass (a 30 Stall boarding & training facility).  Under Em’s guidance and knowledge she raised the riding lesson and training program to over a 100+ students and horses riding in the farm’s weekly lesson program. Em revitalized a 150 year old farm and 50+ yr old riding school business that had run its course in the local equine community and reorganized the business model and marketing of the business & farm into a debt free, profitable business along with developing a competive Eventing Young Riders Program and installed a strong amateur adult and juniors riding lesson program along with educating horse owners on health care & safety of their equine partners; along assisting with and advising on equine ground training techniques, restarting, rehabbing & layups within a structured, positive and fun learning environment.

Em is a very experienced, driven and compassionate coach and horse trainer with her Student’s and their horses and has been recognized for her true commitment, dedication & passion for education within the sport of Eventing over the years.   The last two years, Em and her horse Sonic resided in Gainesville/Ocala, Florida where Em continued to work with young off the track thoroughbreds and competed in dressage.   Spring 2018 Em will be residing full-time in Dover-Downs/Portofino, but in the mean time you will see her out in the Community enjoying her training rides with Sonic for the up and coming Eventing Season along with teaching in the Portofino Rings.  Em enjoys teaching amateur Adults along with Specializing in educating & teaching amateur, competive and challenged learning Junior Riders of all levels.
